Complete Patch Notes for Modern Warfare’s Biggest Update v1.09

Modern Warfare Patch 1.09 Patch Notes

The biggest update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare has been released. The update went live on November 22, 2019 and is loaded with changes. The newest update, known as v1.09 is currently live on all platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and is an estimated 12 GB for console players, and 22 GB for PC players. The major update was originally teased on Twitter by Ashton Williams (Sr. Communications Manager at Infinity Ward).

The patch was also said to have updates for competitive Call of Duty (CDL). For the CDL it looks like changes have been made to allow players to disable the overhead spawn camera. The overhead camera would show when players were killed, allowing them to see the entire map from above. Another change is to the thermal site – players can now see through smoke. The final change geared towards Call of Duty competitive is a fix for a glitch known as the “SnD Mounting Glitch”. To do this glitch, players would head to a “mount” spawn in a search and destroy game after the bomb has been planted. If the enemy started to defuse the bomb, the “mount” tooltip would go away notifying them that the bomb was being defused.

Patch notes for the major update are quite extensive, as the update changes a lot. We’ve broken the patch notes down into a summary, basic details, and a complete patch notes so you can get through them as fast as possible.

Modern Warfare Update 1.09 Summary

Patch 1.09 looks to improve on the current game by patching bugs, fixing exploits, and balancing weapons and equipment. One part of the patch every player is interested in is how they change the footsteps. In this patch they have adjusted the volume and sound type played for crouch walk and walking while aiming down sights. Along with the new sounds they have released 2 new speical operations “Harbinger” and “Brimstone”. For multiplayer that have also introduced a new playlist “Realism Moshpit (Domination, Hardpoint, Headquarters, Kill Confimed)” and gun game. Gun game is a classic game mode in Call of Duty of the years. You start with one weapon and as you get eliminations you get new weapons. To win, you have to be the first player to get a kill with each weapon.

For competitive players, they have fixed the dead silence glitch and also added the ability to disable the overhead camera that would show the entire map after being eliminated. Thermal scopes will now see through smoke grenades – previously players could spam smoke and gain control of any map because there was no counter. Lastly, they have patched the mounting bug in search and destroy.
