Cloud9 have announced the signing of Kioshima to their professional Counter-Strike Global Offensive roster. Hiroshima joins the roster full time after standing in for the team at the Blast Pro Series tournament where the team finished 5th. Kioshima the veteren CS:GO players has played for very successful teams in the past like FaZe Clan and Team EnVy. Kioshima looks to stabilize the Cloud9 roster after numerous stand-ins post major.
After winning the ELEAGUE Boston Major 2018 Cloud9 struggled to remain at the top and often times finished tournaments with disappointing placements. The struggles led to start player Jacky “Stewie2k” Yip leaving the roster to join MiBR (SK Gaming at the time). Shortly after, Tarik “Tarik” Celik followed Stewie to MiBR. Not long after Stewie and Tarik’s departure long time Cloud9 CS:GO player Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham announced that he was retiring from competitive CS:GO to focus on a career in streaming. All of the departures led to a roster that consisted of only two of the players that had just won a major months prior.
By announcing Kioshima, Cloud9 currently have three European players, and two from North America. This will be the first time that long time “North American” CS:GO team Cloud9 is represented as a European team. The current Cloud9 roster is as follows:
Timothy “autimatic” Ta
William “RUSH” Wierzba
Maikil “Golden” Selim
Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey
Soham “valens” Chowdhury (coach)
